Choose your battles
My children have finally broke me to the point of just throwing in the towel. Mitchell has always been a pretty laid back and easy going child, but since he has turned three things are so different. He gets frustrated very easy, screams at the top of his lungs and follows it by saying "no screaming, please". He has about three or more good meltdowns a day, which results in about an hour of crying.
Today was no exception. We are still in the midst of potty training, which is not going well and everyone says "don't push them", but what should I do when he holds it until he is about to explode. It gets so bad the he sweats like mad because of the anxiety, yet if I put on a diaper he does nothing but complain about how tight it is and insists on putting his unnerwears back on.
I felt too tired this morning and with the temps in the mid 90's today the thought of meeting our friends at the HOT BED of a park in Stillwater was not in the cards for me. So, after a typical morning of screaming and crying - We got in the mini-van and headed to Wendy's for lunch. Wow - what a relief it was to just have a couple of minutes of peace while they chowed on lunch. It's nap time now and the neighbor just stopped over to invite over to swim in their pool. RELIEF is on the way as soon as the boys get up! That is the best way to battle this heat, now if there was only a easy way to stop this sticky behavior...
