One Day @ a Time

Mitchell had a minor set-back this past weekend with his catheter. I slept with him Saturday night and he was tossing and turning and pulling on his tubes. My guess was that his catheter was rubbing up between his legs and it was really annoying him. So, when we got up in the morning Kurt did a check with the tubing and found out that the dang thing was clogged.

Needless to say, after dealing with a sleepless night, a very crabby and uncomfortable almost 4 year old and waiting around for our doctor to call us back (his partner who was on-call couldn't answer our questions).. -- My very patient and clinical minded husband took the little man to the emergency room. They irrigated is catheter and waaaa-la, back in business.

So, we are trying to take it slow and just hang around the house and neighborhood. The kids on the block have been so good about playing with the boys and being sensitive about Mitchell walking around with all the tubes and gross bag of fluids hanging off his hip.

We are taking it one day at a time, and next Monday we can finally get this catheter & stent behind us stuff behind us...

What troopers all of you are! Poor Mitchell. I'm sure he will be glad to get all that stuff removed. Please give him a big hug and kiss for me. He is being such a big boy about all of this!!

Love,
Auntie Carole
