Road to Recovery
Our big boy made it like a trooper through a really long day. It was so much fun seeing him so full of life and being silly prior to surgery, as all the nurses and doctors ran us through all the pre-op stuff. He loved his blue space pajamas, strawberry lip smacker for his mask to put him to sleep, the nurses tweety and sylvester scrubs and his surgeon even had on a mickey mouse and goofy tie. Little did he know how bad his boo-boo was going to hurt after surgery.

Mitchell's special get-well card from cousin Devyn.Surgery was about 2 1/2 hours and everything went well. He woke up in the recovery room very upset and told me his penis hurts. OHHHHH, what I would do to take away the pain! It is so hard to watch your little one go through such trauma.
He has an IV in his Left hand, a catheter for his kidney and one in his penis! OUCH
Pain is being managed with morphine and tylenol with codeine. When I left the hospital tonight he was asking for a PB&J sandwich and some more apple juice, so hopefully he can keep some solids down and get lots of rest tonight. His urologist said that if all goes well, he should be released on Wednesday afternoon.

So glad to hear things went well. If Mitchell's asking for food, he's definitely getting back to normal!!!! Certainly a good sign!
Thanks for the update. We have been praying for him AND you. It's tough on the little guy AND tough on the momma...
What a tough day, for him and you!!!
I've been praying for all of you, and am sure tomorrow and the next will be better and better. Hang in there, mom!!!

We all love you Mitchell and know you will be fine in a few days. Hopefully you will be able to sleep in your own bed Wednesday night -- and catch up with Levi and what he has been doing. I know you two will be happy to see each other. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
